Perre, Emile  -  June 15, 1952

Emile Perre, 80-year-old native and lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis, died at his home at 302 Second St., at 4 a. m. Sunday, June 15 following a long illness.

Funeral services were held from the Fahey Funeral Home at 9:45 a. m. Tuesday, June 17, with religious services at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church at 10 a. m. Rev. Father Patrick Grant conducted the service. Interment was in the family tomb in Cedar Rest Cemetery.

Acting as pallbearers were August Perre, Emile Perre, Harry Breath, all of New Orleans, and Frank Quintini Jr., Perre Quintini and J. S. Blanchard of Bay St. Louis.

Mr. Perre was the husband of the late Anna Suzeneau of this city. His survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Leonide P. Cabell, Bay St. Louis, Captain Juliette A. Cook, U. S. Army Nurse stationed at Camp Rucker, Mrs. Lucille B. Kersh, Fon Du Lac, Wisconsin; three sons, Emile M. Perre, Fon du Lac, Boatswains Mate Edgar J. Perre, U. S. Navy, Long Beach, California, Leon L. Perre, U. S. Navy, Los Angeles Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Elise Grandmont. Bay St. Louis and New Orleans and grandchildren.

In the passing of Mr. Perre the town has lost one of its oldest citizens for the Perre family have always been a vital part of the community and he represented the last of his generation of Perre men.
