Rhodes, Gladys S. - October 11, 1999
Gladys Scovell Rhodes, 80, of Waveland, died Monday, Oct 11, 1999, in Diamondhead.
Mrs. Rhodes was a native of Brooklyn, N. Y. and was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl H. Picon Rhodes; her mother, Stella Blackwell, her father, Edward Scovell; daughters Daisy M. Rhodes and Bette Rhodes Jr; and a sister, Margaret Collins.
Survivors include daughters Derrell Rhodes McNeil of Houston, Texas and Beulah Ellen Jez of Waveland; sisters Cleo Ruiz, Edna Smith, Shirley Bajoie, all of New Orleans, and Lois Lainez of Youngstown, Ohio; 13 grandchidren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted l p.m. today at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witesses, 702 Turner Street in Bay St. Louis with graveside seervices following at 2 p.m. in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.
Murray Henderson Funeral Home in New Orleans is in charge of arrangements.
