Obituary Record

Sadler, Mrs. Hattie  -  September 27, 1896

After an illness extending a period of many months, the spirit of Mrs. Hattie Sadler, wife of Mr. C. A. Sadler, fell into the slumber of death after nightfall on Sunday last, September 27, 1896.

Mrs. Sadler was one of those true Christians that makes home happy, cast sunshine into the paths of others, and lived one of those lives of true sublimity. As a member of her religious faith, she was devoted, and by her death the Methodist church loses one of its most consistent members. As beautifully a life she lived as peacefully she died.

The deceased was born at Columbia, Miss., December 2, 1836, and was the daughter of Captain and Mrs. A. P. Boardman. She leaves one daughter and three sons, all grown, and a husband to sustain the loss of her death, and these with other relatives have the sympathy of a host of friends in this sad hour of bereavement.

The funeral took place Monday afternoon and was largely attended. The Rev. N. B. Harmon conducted the obsequies, and at the church made a few remarks that were touching and beautiful. Mrs. Sadler is dead, but her memory will always be remembered by those who knew her, and to know her meant constant friendship.
