Smith, James Joseph - Unknown Date
James Joseph Smith, 90, died Saturday afternoon at his residence, 403 St. George St., Bay St. Louis. He was a native of Fenton, Miss., and a resident of Bay St. Louis for 80 years.
A wake was held Sunday night at the family residence, and funeral servicesw were held this morning from St. Rose DeLima Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, with Lockett's Mortuary in charge. Father John Bowman, S.V.D., officiated. Interment was in St. Mary Cemetery, Bay St. Louis.
He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Lillian Watson, Gulfport; Mrs. Harriet Curry, Mrs. Mae Givens, Bay St. Louis; Mrs. Hazel Breaux, New Orleans; and Miss Madeline Smith, Chicago, Ill.; one son, James Joseph Smith, Jr., Bay St. Louis; 13 grandchildren; and two nephews.
