Stroud, Betty Jean - April 14, 1998
Betty Jean Payne Stroud, 63, of Pearlington, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Stroud was a native of Gulfport and had been a resident of Pearlington for the past 18 years. She had attended Westward Elementary School in Gulfport and graduated from Gulfport High School in 1953. She was a telephone operator in Gulfport.
Mrs. Stroud was preceded in death by a son Boward Stroud of Harvey, La; and her parents, W. Wilson Payne of Lucille Ladner Payne of Gulfport.
Survivors include her husband Mr. Lawson W. Stroud of Pearlington; three sons, Jerry A. Stroud of Biloxi; TSgr Joseph H. Stoud Sr. Of Colorado Springs, Colo (USAF Academy), and Glen E. Stroud of Beaumont, Texas; two brothers, Wilson Earl Payne and Woodrow Murdock Payne, both of Gulfport; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation was Friday evening at Riemann Funeral Home in Gulfport. Services were conducted Saturday at the funeral home. Burial was in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
