Wolfe, Dr. Marion J. Sr. - September 29, 1996
Dr. Marion J. Wolfe Sr., 90, of Bay St. Louis, died Sunday, Sept 29, 1996, in Metairie.
Dr Wolfe was a nataive of New Orleans. He was a graduate of St. Stanislaus and Tulane Medical School and was inducted into the St. Stanislaus Hall of Fame in 1973. He was instrumental in organizing the Hancock County Blood Bank and had practiced medicine in Bay St. Louis since 1933.
He was spreceded in death by his wife, Lillian Vetter Wolfe.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Marion J. Wolfe Jr. of Bay St. Louis and Bernard Wolfe of Metairie; a daughter, Helen Wolfe Wirth of Metairie; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Tuesday evening at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home in New Orleans. Mass was celebrated Wednesday
at the funeral home chapel with burial in Metairie Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct 12 at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis.
