Crawford, Kate O'Hearn - May 27, 1894
Bay St. Louis and New Orleans were shocked last Sunday evening at the sad and sudden demise of Mrs. Crawford the good and estimable lady of Hon. J. D. Crawford, Collector of Customs for the Port of New Orleans.
Mrs. Crawford arrived Sunday morning, on the eve of the departure of her daughter and son for Europe, for the purpose of visiting her sons at college, and was about leaving her home to meet the excursion train when she suddenly dropped lifeless. Spiritual and physical aid was immediately summoned, but too late. The remains were carried to New Orleans that night and interred Wednesday morning.
Mrs. Crawford was a true Christian, charitable and every way worthy of the high position she occupied in life. Our sympathies go out to the bereaved family.
