Surcouf, Mrs. Paul Sr. - February 1, 1902
Mrs. Paul Surcouf, Sr., aged 65 years, died at the residence of her son-in-law, F. H. Egloff, Thursday afternoon, after a short illness from la grippe. Mrs. Surcouf, a native of Ireland, had been a resident of Bay St. Louis for many years. She was a Catholic and died fortified with the sacraments of her church. Two sons and two daughters are left to mourn her demise, Messrs. Nicholas Ruger, Paul Surcouf, Mrs. F. H. Egloff, Mrs. A. G. Tomasich. The funeral, which took place yesterday afternoon, was largely attended. Very Rev. Father Blanc officiating. Mrs. Surcouf was a devoted mother and her loss is keenly felt. To the bereaved parents The Echo extends deepest sympathy, knowing well as we do the depth of their sorrow.
