Bowser, Admiral  -  August 1, 1997

Admiral Joseph Bowser, 58, of Pass Christain, died Friday, Aug 1, 1997, in By St. Louis.

Mr. andolph graduated from Randolph High School in 1956, joined the Army after graduating and retired from the Army as a Sargeant Major in 1980. He received many awards while serving in the Army: National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantry Bade, Brone Star Second Award, Good Conduct Medal,expert Rifleman Badge, Air Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, First Team First Calvary Division member, Army Commendation Medal second award and Founder of Honor Board out of Ft. Pucker, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Dewy Bowser; two sisters, Myrtle Dedeaux and Helen Payne; and a brother, George Dewy Bowers Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Ashley Bowser; his mother Josephine Bowser; and two daughters, Joy C. Hammond, all of Pass Christian; and Tammy Rankin of Long Beach; two sons, Charles J. Bowser and Carl JH. Bowser, both of DeLisle; two sisters, Marcella Swanier of DeLisle and Beverly Robinson of Detroit; three brothers Michael Bowser and Byron Bowser, both of Pass Christian and Roland Bowser of Natchez; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A service was held Tuesday morning at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Pass Christian. Burial was in St. Stephen's Cemetery in DeLisle.

Lockett-Williams Mortuary in Gulfport was in charge of arrangements.
