Perkins, Tempie  -  September 26, 1927

Mrs. Tempie Perkins, widow of the late R. R. Perkins, died early today at her home here at the age of 47 years.

Funeral services will be held under the auspices of the Methodist Church here Tuesday at 4 p. m. with burial in Cedar Rest Cemetery.

Mrs. Perkins, who like her husband, was a native of Georgia, was well known in New Orleans as well in this territory. Her husband, who died ten years ago, was a leader in the upbuilding and development of Hancock County.

He was president of the Imperial Naval Stores Company which operated more than a dozen turpentine stills in this section and had offices in New Orleans, and also was president of he Merchants' Bank of Bay St. Louis, which flourished and grew under his leadership.

Mrs. Perkins is survived by two sons, R. Terrell Perkins, New Orleans, a real estate man; Grady Perkins and four daughters, Misses Mary, Hermie, Gertrude and Ruth Perkins.
