Laton John Weinberg, Sr., 98, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009 in Bay St. Louis, MS.
He was a lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis, MS. Laton was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II .
He is preceded in death by his wife Pearl Kingston Weinberg, his parents, George and Amelia Laurant Weinberg, brothers, Alvin Weinberg, James Weinberg, and sisters, Eugenie Taconi, Bernice Scafidi, and Alice Schwall.
He is survived by his children, Laton John Weinberg, Jr., Una Ann Weinberg Vinson, Sr., his friend, John Preston; grandchildren, Richard Vinson, Jr., Rachel Schaefer, Rebecca D'Angelo, and Renee Boudreaux; great-grandchildren, Emma Vinson, Jack Vinson, Ricky Schaefer, Madison D'Angelo, and Mia Bella D'Angelo.
Services were held Tuesday at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS. Burial followed in Cedar Rest Cemetery in Bay St. Louis, MS.
Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis was in charge of the arrangements.
