DEMISE OF AN ESTIMABLE LADY.

Mrs. Catherine Riusech, After a Long Illness, Expired Thursday Night.

DIED--At 10 o'clock p. m. Thursday, January 16, 1902, Mrs. Catherine Riusech, aged 81 years and 4 months, a native of Germany.

Mrs. Riusech had been ill the past two years,and ever since then her life had been slowly ebbing away. She had been a resident of this city the past fifty-six years, known by all and noted for her devotion to the Catholic faith. Two daughters and two sons are left to mourn her death, these are Mrs. E. H. Hoffmann, Mrs. C. Thiery and Messrs. John and Raphael Riusech, all of this city.

The funeral, which was largely attended, took place yesterday afternoon from the residence of Hon. E. H. Hoffmann, Very Rev. Father F. J. Blanc conducting the ceremony. At the church he dwelled beautifully on the exemplary Christian life of the deceased. The pall bearers were Messrs. J. A. Breath. J. F. Cazeneuve, Richard Mendes, Paul Diilmann, L. Spotorno, A. Quintini. Honorary pall bearers Mrs. D. B. Seal, Mrs. A. Beuchel, Mrs. J. B. Fahey, Mrs. Geo. Muller, Mrs. Jos. Clingler, Mrs. D. Bontemps. The interment took place in the family tomb, St. Mary's Cemetery.

The community sympathizes deeply with the bereaved relatives.
