Carr, Edward III  -  July 26, 2004

Edward Wheeler Carr, III died on Monday, July 26, 2004, in Gulfport, MS. Mr. Wheeler was a Catholic and a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. He was a native of Waveland, MS and a longtime resident of New Orleans, LA before retiring to Bay St. Louis, MS in 1969.

He owned and operated Automatic Heat. Growing up, he was an Eagle Scout, and was a graduate of Rugby Academy of New Orleans, and wrestled with the Southern AAU for over 16 years. Mr. Carr was a member of the Hancock County Historical Society, and Bay St. Louis Senior Citizens.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Peters Carr, parents, Allen and Frances Ott Bushnell; brothers, Henry Bushnell and Sidney Prendergast; sisters, Beatrice Shannon and Margaret Jones.

He is survived by sons, Edward W. Carr, 1V of Harvey, LA, Robert Carr of Arabi, LA: Donald E. Carr of Costa Rica; Lawrence H. Carr of Destrehan, LA; William D. Carr of Albany, LA; Stuart Peters of Slidell, LA; and Norman Peters of El Paso, TX; daughters, Madelyn C .Frosch of Bay St. Louis, MS; Carolyn C. Boe of Harvey, LA; Frances C. Lally of Kenner, LA; Mary Jane Verwoerdt of Marrero, LA; and Shirley Judy Sketteno of Diamondhead, MS. He is also survived by over 40 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and over 10 great great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clare Catholic Church in Waveland, MS where friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Burial will be at Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to be made to St. Clare School Scholarship Fund, 234 South Beach Blvd., Waveland, MS 39576-4000. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
