Buehler, Warren (Buck)  -  November 12, 1985

A long time Scouter, Buck Buehler passed away November 12, 1985, at Hancock General Hospital.

A native of Hancock County, he was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Buck recently retired from federal civil service with the U. S. Postal Service.

Buck served four years in the U. S. Army's 809th Tank Destroyer Division during World War II. A member of American Legion Post 139 for 42 years, Buck held numerous offices including Post Commander. He was awarded a life membership in Post 139,. He was also a member of Forty and Eight and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Buck was well known for his interest and work with the youth of Hancock County. He was a member of the Bay St. Louis Parks and Playground Commission for 27 years.

There was nobody more loyal and dedicated to the Boy Scouts than Buck Buehler. He was a Scout leader and tireless worker for 47 years. He devoted most of his time to Boy Scout Troop 209 but spent much time helping other scout units including Cub Scout Packs and Explorer Posts. Buck was honored with our Council's highest award - the Silver Beaver.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Monti Buehler; two sons, Larry Buehler and Andy Buehler; two daughters, Karen Buehler Ponder and Sue Buehler Fayard; and seven grandchildren.
