Caire, Katharine M. - March 15, 1997
Katharine Daly McDuire Caire, 80, of Bay St. Louis, died March 15, 1997, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Caire was a former reporter for the New Orleans Item and columnist for the Bay ST. Louis Sea Coast Echo. She attended Newcomb College in the 30"s, and became a newspaper reporter on the old Item. While there she met her late husband, David R. McGuire.
After his death in 1960, she opened a small public relations firm, then went into partnership with and later married the late Ronny Caire.
Until her death, Mrs. Caire wrote a weekly column for The Sea Coast Echo and had also published "Katy's Cook Book-Cooking Up a Storm."
Survivors include two sons, Bill McGuire and Jack McGuire, both of Mandeville, and six grandchildren.
Mass was celebrated Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Pass Christian. Burial was in Garden of Memories in Metairie.
The family prefers memorials to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, ST. Paul Catholic Church.
