Obituary Record

Cameron, Sallie C.  -  May 30, 1897

Mrs. A. F. Cameron, a resident of Bay St. Louis for the past twenty-five years where she had many friends of the true kind, died in New Orleans, at the Hotel Dieu, aged 54 years. The good lady had been troubled for years with an affliction for which there was no remedy save the application of the surgeon's knife which, as the physicians had forewarned, her age forbade the risk, but courageous and as a last resort of alleviating her sufferings she made the risk and with the above sad result. Mrs. Cameron was a devout and consistent member of the Catholic Church in which faith she died in full grace. The body was conveyed to this city Tuesday and interred the same evening in the old cemetery, the Rev. Father Leduc officiating. The demise of Mrs. Cameron will not be easily forgotten and her departure ever felt by the many whose friendship she closely held and abided in their esteem.
