Chancellor, John Jr. - May 16, 1999
John N. Chancellor Jr., 83 of Diamondhead, died Sunday, May 16, 1999, in Slidell.
Mr. Chancellor, a native of Parkersburg, W. V., was a former resident of Tulsa, Okla and Slidell and had been a resident of Diamondhead for the past 15 years. He was a graduate of University of Tulsa with a bachelor's degree in physics and engineering and was an Army veteran serving in World War II. He retired from Amoco in 1981
He was preceded in death by his parents, John.N. Chancellor Sr. and Bessie Owens Chancellor; and a sister Lucille Barrett.
Survivors include his wife, Winnell Ham Chancellor of Diamondhead; five daughters,Jeannete Austin of Hollywood, Fla., Nancy Thompson of Royal Oak, Mich, Dian Pilcher of Ponchatoula, Cindy Thompson of Baton Rouge and Maribeth Anders of Litle Rock, Ark., two sisters, Betty Lee of Reno, Nev., and Jeannette McKay of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Tuesday at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell. Graveside services were conducted Wednesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.
