Corlett, Ivy Ferris - October 30, 1897
The Scranton Chronicle in the following notes the demise of a most estimable woman known in this place and at one time a resident of Gulf View, now Chinchuba: "Since our last issue the Angel of Death has again visited our community, this time taking away Mrs. Ivy Corlett, nee Ferris, who died on the 30th of October. Mrs. Corlett was born September 22, 1866, at Bethel, Ripley county, In diana, but came south with her father when a girl. She and her little son came here with her father about a year ago, since which time she has been conducting a successful business. Mrs. Corlett leaves a host of friends who deeply mourn her lost."
