Cuevas, Magdalena Lena Seither  -  August 11, 1996

Mrs. Magdalena Lena Seither Cuevas, 89, of Waveland, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 1996, in Bay St. Louis.

Mrs. Cuevas was a native of New Orleans and resident of Waveland for over 70 years. She was a self-employed seamstress, had previously worked for Haspel Brothers Suits of New Orlweans and in the Gulfport Garment Factory making military uniforms dueing World War II. She was a past presidebnt and a VIM life member of the Clement R. Bontemps American Legion Auxiliary Unit 139, Bay St. Louis. She was a Roman Catholic and a longrtime memeber of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church and member of the OLG Altar Society. She chaired bingo for veterans from Gulfport and Biloxi Veterans Hospitals held at the American Legion Post 129 for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Mary Sickinger Seither; and a sister, Elizabeth Mary Seither.

Survivors include four sons, Ellis Charles Cuevas of Bay St. Louis, Clemence August Cuevas of Fayetteville, N.C., Raymond Anthony Cuevas and Felton John Cuevas, both of Waveland; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Tuesday evening at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis. Mass was celebrated Wednesday at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.
