Cuevas, Roy Joseph  -  October 19, 1998

Roy Joseph Cuevas, 68, of Bay St. Louis, died Monday, Oct 19, 1998, in Hammond.

Mr. Cuevas was a native of Kiln and a lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis. He was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church and the Adoration Chapel Group. He was an independent carrier for The Sun Herald for 21 years, an employee of Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula for 22 years and a member of the Hancock County Sheriff's Department for numerous years. He was also a member of the International Association of Machinists.

He was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Dawayne Cuevas; and his parents, Aras Nazaire and Mary Eloise Tartavoulle Cuevas.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Bennett Cuevas of Bay St. Louis, three sons, Roy B. Cuevas of Lizana, Ronald A. Cuevas of Bay St. Louis and Randy Cuevas of Long Beach; a daughter, Melanie Cuevas Bishop of Pass Christian; two brothers, Leroy A. Cuevas of Kiln and Gussy A. Cuevas of Waveland; a sister, Mary Pearl Cuevas Tyner of Waveland and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be today 7 p.m.- midnight with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Friday, Oct 23 at 10:40 a.m. for an 11 a.m. mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St Louis.

Burial will be in Bayou Coco Cemetery in Kiln.
