Debever, Omer J. - August 3, 1999
Omer J. DeBever, 94, of Bay St. Louis, died Tuesday, Aug 3, 1999, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. DeBever was a native of Ostende, Belgium and a longtime resident of Bay St. Louis. He was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis and was president of the Pass Christian Isles Golf Club, Inc. He was also a past member of the Hancock County Port and Harbor Board of Directors and a member of the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julien Alphonse and Zenovia VanOutryne DeBever; and a brother, Raymond DeBever.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Eldredge DeBever of Bay St. Louis; a daughter Marilyn Punahele of Bolder, Colo., two sons, Bruce DeBever of Bolder and Peter DeBever of Rochester, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Gaynel Bob of Pensacola, Fla; two stepsons, Walter Gex of Bay St. Louis and Joseph Gex of Waveland; 10 grandchildren, six great-granchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug 7, 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Ctholic Church in Bay St. Louis, followed by celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.
Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis is in charge of arrangements.
