Erwin, Florence Edney - February 6, 1956
Mrs. Florence Edney Erwin, 74, died at her residence, 112 Carroll Ave., Bay St. Louis, Monday night, at 11:15 o'clock. She had been in ill health for some time. Mrs. Erwin was born in Crystal Springs, Miss.,Nov. 15, 1883, and had resided in Bay St. Louis for 46 years. She was the daughter of the late William and Katherine Edney of Crystal. Springs, Miss.
The wife of the late James Ernest Erwin Sr., she is survived by two' daughters, Mrs. A. E. Cox and Mrs. E. G. Jordy of Bay St. Louis; three sons, James Ernest Erwin Jr., Bay St. Louis; Clifton E. Erwin, Pass Christian, and John Alton Erwin. Houston, Texas; one brother, G. L. Edney of Monroe, La.; one sister, Mrs. Robert Richard, Morrings Port, La; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The body will lie in state at the residence from 2 o'clock this afternoon until 12 midnight. Religious services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from the Main Street Methodist Church, with the Rev. A. M. Ellison, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Cedar Rest Cemetery, Bay St Louis.
