Fayard, Peter G.  -  March 7, 1961

Peter G. Fayard, 66, retired L&N Railroad employee, died at 4:30 A. M. Tuesday in the Veterans Administration Hospital at Biloxi where he had been a patient for the last month.

The funeral was Wednesday afternoon from Fahey-Whitfield Funeral Home with burial in Fayard Cemetery, Waveland.

A native of Waveland, he had resided at 441 Ballentine St. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are the widow, the former Miss Edna Heimel; one son, Peter Gordon Fayard, Jr., of Mobile, Ala., two stepsons, Emile and Alvin Winters, both of New Orleans; two daughters, Mrs. Oswald Carver and Mrs. Howard Carver, both of Bay St. Louis; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leonard Hursey of Slidell; two brothers, John Fayard of Waveland and Paul Fayard of New Orleans; two sisters, Mrs. Chris Ladner of Waveland and Mrs. Victoria Henley of New Orleans, 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Charles Ladner, Paul Fayard, Jr., Harold Downey, Leonard Harvey, Jr., Alvin Winters, Jr., and A. J. Fayard.
