Franklin, Ruth James - April 29, 1998
Ruth James Franklin, 77, of Catahoula Community, Hancock County, died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, in Slidell, La.
Mrs. Franklin was a native of Standard Community and was a cook. She was a member of the Little Providence Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, assistant School Superintendent and she served on the Usher Board.
Survivors include two daughters, lzie Gray of Palo Alto, Calif. and Deborah Woods of Gulfport; her mother Emma James of Catahoula; six sisters, Elsie Collins of Gulfport, Edna Oliver of Valleyjo, Calif., Ann Barnett of Columbis, Md., Ethel Walthour, Evelyn Newkirk and Gloria James, all of Catahoula; two brothers, Rogers James and George James, both of Catahoula; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A service was held |Saturday at Little Providence Baptist Church with burial in the Catahoula Cemetery.
Brown Funeral Home in Picayune was in charge of arrangements.
