Fredian, Thomas V.  -  October 20, 1999

Thomas Vincent Fredian, 69, of Diamondhead, died Wednesday, Oct 20, 1999, in Diamondhead.

Mr. Fredian was born Aug. 25, 1930 in Chicago and had been a resident of Diamondhead since 1976. He graduated from the University of Miami and received a master's degree in international relations from the University of Southern California. He served in the United States Navy and retired at the rank of Commander in 1974.

He served as public affairs officer for the Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command at Stennis Space Center from 1974 until hs retirement from Civil Service in 1997. He received two Navy civilian meritorious awards, and a Superior Civilian Service Award from the Secretary of the Navy. He was employed at Analysis and Technology, Inc. In Bay St. Louis. He was a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Lee Fredian of Diamondhead; a sister, Teri Buns of Niles, Ill; a niece, Barbara Johnson of Mt. Prospect, Ill.; three nephews, Thomas Buns of Libertyville, Ill; Robert Runs of Scottsdale, Ariz,, and James Buns of Grayslake, Ill.

Mr. Fredian's memberships and affiliations include: St. Williams Caholic Church, Kiln; board of trustees and executive board member, Lynn Meaadows Discovery Center; co-chair, Hancock County United Way; president, Miss. Beach Chapter and State Board of Directors, Public Relations Association of Miss; president, Southwest Miss. Council, Navy League of the U. S. ; chairman, "Salute to the Military, 1992 present; co-chair, Public Relations Committee, 44th International Science and Engineering Fair; passt president and board of directors, Coast Centurions; Gulf Coast Symphony; Diamondhead Academy School Board; Diamondhead Community Ass.; Diamondhead SPCA; Diamondhead Business and Professional Organization; Krewe of Diamondhead and Krewe of Kamehameha.

A memorial service was conducted Saturday at Diamondhead Community Church.

Riemann Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.
