Garriga, James U.  -  March 11, 1999

James U. Garriga, 66, of Kiln, died Thursday, March 11, 1999, in Biloxi.

Mr. Garriga was a retired merchant seaman. He was a member of the VFW Post in Kiln and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Azra T. Garriga and his parents, Ulysses and Bertha Moran Garriga.

Survivors include a son, Paul Garriga of Sulphur Springs, Texas; daughters Mary Ann Garriga of Diamondhead and Wanda Sue Garriga of Su;phur Ssprings; brothers Louis Garriga of Bridge City, Texas, Lehman Garriaga of Orange Grove, Franklin Garriga of St. Louis, Mo., Raymond Garriga of Leetown, Ernest Garriga of Catahoula, Ellis Garriga of Rocky Hill, and William Garriga of Pearl, Miss.; sisters Jeannette Shaw of Riceville, Mildred Paavolini of DeLisle, Kathleen Cuevas of Fenton, and Mary Ellen Bennett of Long Beach; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation was Friday evening at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home in Gulfport. Mass was celebrated Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.

Riemann Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.
