Gaudet, Coral K.  -  June 18, 1999

Coral Kukuk Gaudet, 75, of Waveland, died Friday, June 18, 1999, in Gulfport.

Mrs. Gaudet was a native of Brookings, S. D. and had resided in Waveland since 1970. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Bay St. Louis.She taught in the Bay St . Louis school system from 1970 until 1982 and was a member of the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club. Mrs. Gaudet served in the Women's army Corps and Army Air Force during World War II. She received the Outstanding Leader in Elementary and Secondary Education Award in 1976. She was a contributing editor to Latin America Report and wa a teacher and missionary for the Wycliffe Society in Guiana, Easter Island, Guatemala, Honduras and Canada. She was listed in the World WhO's Who of Women in 1973; 2000 Women of Achievement in 1969 and was active in charitable activities in Christ Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William George Gaudet; her parents, Simon Peter and Odelia Ann Kotte Kukuk; a son, Peter Douglas Mears; two brothers, Clayton Emory Kukuk and Stanley Kukuk and a sister, Ardene Kukuk Johnson.

Survivors include two sons, H. Michael Mears of Vienna, Va., and William Gerald Gaudet of Lafayette; a stepmother, Margaret Kukuk of Minneapolis, Minn; two brothers, Harley Kukuk of Minneapolis and Duane Kukuk of Austin, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Services were conducted Sunday at Christ Episcopal Church in Bay St. Louis. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.
