Glover, Harry B. Sr.  -  April 6, 1957

Harry B. Glover, Sr., 75, died Saturday, April 6, at 4:45 p.m., at Kings Daughters Hospital, following a lengthy illness. A native of New Orleans, Mr. Glover had lived in Bay St. Louis since 1900.

Mr. Glover served as postmaster of Bay St. Louis from 1925, when he was appointed under a Republican Administration, until 1935, serving then under a Democratic administration.

The father of City Commissioner J. Cyril Glover, he and his family have been prominent in civic and social affairs in Bay St. Louis since moving here from New Orleans.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lucretia Matranga Glover, and four sons other than Commissioner Glover; Harry B. well known former football star, Metairie, La., Anthony, Opelousas, La.; David, New Orleans; and Joseph, Jackson, Miss.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 7, from Fahey Funeral Home with religious rites following at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Burial was in Metairie Cemetery, Metairie, La.
