Mount, Florence - July 12, 1999
Florence Fayard Monti, 85, of Bay St. Louis, died Monday, July 12, 1999, in Mobile, Ala.
Mrs. Monti was a nataiv and lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis. She was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis and St. Dominic Catholic Church in Mobile. She retired from South Central Bell in 1857 where she had worked in Bay St. Louis and Gulfport as a telephone operator. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Monti; her parents, John Sullivan and Elizabeth Schultz Fayard Sr. and Sidney Fayard; and two sisters, Elsie Collier and Velma Pavolini.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Wednesday at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in By St. Louis.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis followed by interment in St. Mary Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.
