Newkirk, Alyce - September 27, 1999
Alyce W. Newkirk, 76, died Monday, Sept 27, 1999, in Hanahan, S. C.
Mrs. Newkirk was a retired homemaker. She was born in Jonesvile, La., the daughter of Henry P. Wheeler and Myrtle A. Wuster Wheeler. She was the widow of John E. Newkirk.
Mrs. Newkirk was a member of the Waveland Methodist Church and was past president of the Bay-Waveland Garden Club and a master flower show judge and landscape design critic as accredited by the National Council of State Garden Clubs.
Survivors include two brothers, H. P. Wheeer Jr. of Jonesville,La. And John Wheeler of Baton Rouge, La., two sisters, June Peach of Alexandria, La. and Ruby Noe of Alexandria; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be private, J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel is in charge of Arrangements.
