Bird Cage Cottage - One of the most delightful hops of the past week was that given on Tuesday night at the Bird Cage Cottage, the delightful and home-like home of those kind and well-liked people, Mr. and Mrs. Bajurin. The occasion was the birthday of Mr. James Stevenson, of New Orleans and who is a guest of the Bird Cage. A string band furnished good music and dancing was indulged in until midnight when all departed with a hearty "good-night" and expressed themselves of having enjoyed themselves immensely. "Bird Cottage"- Bajurin, Mr. and Mrs. entertained a number of their friends at a dining. The occasion was Mrs. Bajurin's birthday. An enjoyable day was spent by all present-in fact they could not have enjoyed no other time than a good time since it was at the hospitable home of the Bajurin's "Bird Cage" cottage. (SCE 10/01/1892)

Black Hawk - In a horse race Jan. 10, 1846 at Pearlington, C. A. Folsom, Postmaster at Gainesville, pitted his Black Hawk against lumberman and sawmill operator W. J. Poitevent's Sleepy Jim. The little bay, Sleepy Jim won. (PC&C p 22)

Blaize, Mrs. Mildred - Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Collins and daughters, Kathy, Susan and Carolyn, of Mobile, arrived last week to visit with her aunt Mrs. Mildred Blaize. The board accepted the building and grounds of the Fireman’s Hall on Second and Ulman streets and authorized the city attorney to fix the necessary papers for a fee of $30. (VF)
