Conrad, Capt. Paul, last Sunday at his beautiful home, celebrated the thirty-second anniversary of the Chasseursa-Pied in haute style by a banquet fit for the gods.  The hospitality of Capt. Conrad was fully displayed on this occasion.

Thirty-two years ago a hundred, brave and youthful spirits went forth eager to do battle for their State.  Now only about a dozen sobered and aging veterans remain, and but seven of these could be mustered for the annual reunion and banquet.  These were Comrades Joseph Demoruelle, A.P. MacDonald, Paul Conrad, L.L. Davis, M.T. Ducros, and J.W. Fairfax, of New Orleans and John L. Rapier, of Mobile, the latter host of the occasion. As the special guest of Comrade Rapier was that battered old soldier, Capt. Valentine S. Goodin, of the Crescent Blues (which command, with the Chasseurs and Catahoula Guerrillas constituted the famous St. Paul's Battalion); also Messrs. E.L. Pinac and Paul Conrad, Jr.  (SCE, 4-29-1893)
