Konzon, John A. - March 15, 1902
John A. Konzon, 65 years of age died this morning at eight o'clock at his apartments in the Planchet Building. He had come here from South Bend, Indiana, last fall accompanied by his wife and daughter, Miss Anna, to spend the winter. Spending the Mardi Gras season in New Orleans he contracted while there grip and mularial fever, from which death resulted. When his condition became critical the absent members of the family were wired for. Only one son, Mr. Frank Konzon, was able to come, all the other immediate relatives being ill with typhoid fever. The remains were embalmed by Ben Markey and prepared for burial by J. M. Tyler, to be shipped tonight to S. Bend, Indiana. The deceased was a devout Catholic and two days preceding death, before becoming unconscious, he received the last sacraments of the church.
