Obituary Record
Sylvester, Emily Myles - May 17, 1903
Mrs. J. H. Sylvester died at her home on the Blue Meadow Road at 11 o'clock Sunday night, and was buried from the Main Street Methodist church on Monday afternoon, Rev. W.W. Cammack officiating. She had been ill only a few days and death came as a shock to her family and friends as it was not supposed that she was seriously sick.
The deceased was the wife of the late Capt. J. H. Sylvester, and a lady of high character. She was a native of Alabama but had made her home here for the past twenty years or more. She leaves two sons and two daughters, Messrs. W. O. and J. H. Sylvester and Mesdames H. L. Pledger and T. B. Turner, all of whom reside here, and were with her when she died. To them we extend heartfelt sympathy.
