Memorial Obituary
Col. Harry C. Ward Sr., 80, a resident of 125 State St., Bay St. Louis, died Wednesday at 1:25 p.m. at Hancock General Hospital in Bay St. Louis where he had been confined for one day. He had been ill for three months.
Born April 18, 1891, In Newark, N.J., Mr. Ward had resided in Bay St. Louis for 20 years, moving to the Coast from New Orleans.
He was a retired machinist for Jax Brewing Co., New Orleans, and a member of the Machinist Union 462-979 New Orleans.
Mr. Ward was a Catholic, was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf in Bay St. Louis.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Juanita Luke Ward, Bay St. Louis; one son, Harry C. Ward Jr., Hattiesburg; two daughters, Mrs. I.D. (Ruth) Simpson, Baton Rouge; Mrs. D.D. (Harriet) Clifton, Port Arthur, Tex.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Riemanns' Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis this evening from 6 to 11 o'clock. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 p.m.
A prayer will be held Friday morning at 9:45 at the funeral home, followed at 10 o'clock by a requiem Mass in Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Interment will be in Cedar Rest.
