Ladner, Delmas Sr. - June 4, 1981
Delmas Louis Ladner Sr., 84, Hattiesburg, died Thursday afternoon in Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
A native of Bay St. Louis, he had lived in Hattiesburg since 1924. He retired from South Central Bell in 1962 following 44 years of service. He was architect and builder's representative for the telephone company. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hattiesburg and the Telephone Pioneer of America.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret J. Ladner, Hattiesburg; a daughter, Mrs. J.F. (Betty Ann) Coney, Hattiesburg; two sons, Delmas L. Ladner Jr., Natchez, and James El Ladner, Huntsville, Ala.; a stepson, Wally Culpepper, Hattiesburg; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mathilda Michel, Bay St. Louis; Mrs. Mable Bosarge, Biloxi and Mrs. Alcida James, Pass Christian; and a brother, Nolan Ladner, Bay St. Louis.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hulet-Winstead Funeral Home chapel in Hattiesburg, followed by burial in the Highland Cemetery.
