Scafide, Alice - February 1, 2006
Alice Scafide was born in Bay St. Louis, MS on December 1, 1908 and died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at St. James Place in Baton Rouge. She was 97 years old and a lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis.
She is survived by her children, Alice Scafide Kronenberger and husband Larry Kronenberger of Baton Rouge, and John Andrew Scafide, Jr. and wife Jean Smith Scafide of Bay St. Louis; her brother Leo Paul Blaize, Jr. and wife Jeanette Harvey Blaize of Port Allen; her six grandchildren and their spouses, Gregg and Celeste Kronenberger of Austin, TX; Drew and Julia Kronenberger of Fairfax, VA; Paul and Jennifer Kronenberger of Little Rock, AR; Brian and Anna Kathryne Kronenberger of Baton Rouge, Drew and Sarah Scafide of Birmingham, AL, Kathryn and Josh Frerman of Atlanta, GA; and her thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Andrew Scafide Sr., former long-time mayor of the City of Bay St. Louis; her parents, Anita Parrillo and Leo Paul Blaize Sr.; her brother, Joseph "Cotton" Sebastian Blaize and wife Hazel Kergosein; and her canine companion of fourteen years "Fluffy."
She graduated valedictorian from St. Joseph's Academy in Bay St. Louis in 1926. She was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church and the Bay Waveland Yacht Club.
A memorial service will be held at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m.
