Wilkerson, John W. Jr. - March 22, 2006
John W. Wilkerson, Jr., 73, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 in Gulfport, MS. John was born in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of Bay St. Louis, MS for the past 48 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council, School Board and was an OLG School Board member when Our Lady Academy was founded. He was an Honorary Life Member of the American Legion for 52 years, having served as Commander and adjutant. He was Boys State and Scholarship Chairman for Post 139 for 40 years, 9th District Commander, State Commander, State Finance Chairman, member of 40-8 and served as chef deGras, VFW Post 3254. He was a Mason and served on the Bay St. Louis City Council for 8 years, Bay St. Louis Planning & Zoning Commission, Hancock County Human Resource Agency, Hancock County Veterans Services Officer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Bernadine Wilkerson and sister, Camille W. Terluin.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille "Lou" Wilkerson of Bay St. Louis, MS; son, John E. Wilkerson & wife Mary Ann of Bay St. Louis, MS; 2 daughters, Beth Burleson & husband Thomas of Bay St. Louis, and Agnes Dalton & husband Dunnie of Poplarville, MS; and 5 grandchildren and 3 nephews.
Visitation is on Friday, March 24, 2006 from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of the Gulf Parish Hall in Bay St. Louis, MS. Interment will follow in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Bay St. Louis, MS.
