Bangard, Leopold David - May 24, 1960
Leopold David Bangard, Sr., 71, of 2634 Sunset Blvd., Houston, Texas, died unexpectedly at his home May 24, after a heart attack.
Native of Bay St. Louis, he was the son of the late Street Commissioner L. D. Bangard I and the late Mrs. Bangard. Leopold Street was named after the early day Commissioner. Oldtimers here will remember the sone as the youngest and the last of the four stalwart Bangard sons, John (Boy), Forest, Murray, and Leopold (son).
Mr. Bangard was in the cotton business in Houston and had lived there for over 40 years. He was the brother-in-law of Mrs. T. Bangard, a present resident of the Bay. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Myrtle Hawkins of New Orleans, one son, L. D., Jr., one grandson, L. D. III, and a sister, Mrs. Roger I. Ferguson of Pt. Arthur, Texas, the former Victoria (Vicky) Bangard of Bay St. Louis who attended her brother's funeral Wednesday in Houston. Mrs. Howard Winn Pate (Margaret Flora Bangard) died in 1951 in Pt. Arthur.
