Huber, Mary Miller  -  February 5, 1935

Mrs. Joseph Huber, died this morning at her residence, 4226 S. Carrollton avenue on Tuesday, February 5, 1935, at 4 o'clock a.m.

Mary Miller, widow of the late Joseph Huber, mother of Mrs. James W. Burns and grandmother of Gaston G., Liston, Neville, Thais Gardibled, Mrs. L. O. and Mrs. J. G. Bolen, Mrs. M. Lucia, Mrs. Lorena Peacock, Mrs. Dr. Clinton Reed, Mrs. Gertrude Guerra and Lloyd Guerra, also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, aged 94 years, a native of Bay St. Louis, Miss., and a resident of this city for the past 11 years.

The relatives and friends of the family, also the employees of the Sewerage and Water Board and St. Charles hotel are respectfully invited to attend her funeral which will take place from the chapel of L. A. Muhleisen & Son, Dryades, corner of St. Andrew on Wednesday, February 6, 1935, at 8 o'clock a.m. Remains will be forwarded to Bay St. Louis, Miss., where services will take place from Fahey Funeral Home, on Wednesday afternoon, February 6, 1935, at 2 o'clock. Huber, Mary. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 8 a.m. in the chapel of L. A. Muhleisen and Son, funeral directors, 1825 Dryades street, for Mrs. Mary Huber, 94 years old, who died Tuesday in Charity hospital after suffering a fracture of the neck and other injuries in a fall at her home January 17. Mrs. Huber was a native of Bay St. Louis, Miss., but had lived in New Orleans for 11 years.

Her home was at 4226 South Carrolton Avenue. Following services here, her body was sent to Bay St. Louis where services were conducted at 1 p.m. at the Fahey Funeral Home, with interment in St. Mary cemetery. (Newspaper obit. clipping with no identification - VF Gardebled).

One of the oldest members of a generation of other days in Bay St. Louis passed away Tuesday morning at 4 o'clock, at her residence 4226 South Carrolton avenue, New Orleans, when Mrs. Joseph Huber breathed her last and passed away to the life beyond. She was a native of Mississippi and a resident of Bay St. Louis practically all her life until 11 years ago when she moved to New Orleans with her only daughter, Mrs. James W. Burns.

Mrs. Joseph Huber was nee Miss Mary Miller. In her youth she married Louis Guerra and after a long period of widowhood she wedded again. One child was born to the first union, Rinaldo Guyerra, the second, a daughter, Miss Mary Huber, who became wife of the late Mayor Gaston G. Gardebled and later became the wife of James W. Burns. It was with Mr. and Mrs. Burns that Mrs Huber made her home, in Bay St. Louis and the past decade or more of years in New Orleans. The son died long years ago. AGED WOMAN HURT FROM FALL DIES

Mrs. Joseph Huber, 94, died this morning at her residence, 4226 South Carrollton avenue, of injuries she suffered when she fell in her home January 17 (1935, according to New Orleans paper). These included a fractured neck and internal injuries.

Mrs. Huber was formerly Mary M. Miller. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. James W. Burns, 10 grandchildren, Gaston G. Liston, Nevette and Thais Gardibled, Mrs. L. O. Ard, Mrs. J. G. Bolen, Mrs. M. Lucia, Mrs. Lorena Peacock, Mrs. Clinton Reed, Mrs. Gertrude Guerra and Lloyd Guerra, and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Bay St. Louis, Miss., where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be sent after services at the L. A. Muhleisen and Son chapel at 8 a.m. Wednesday. (New Orleans newspaper)
