Obituary Record

We are pained to chronicle the death of old lady Vina Mitchell, who was perhaps the oldest lady in this county, being 92 years old. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren outnumber any family within our county. She lived a pure upright life, open and plain in her convictions, candor and sincerity marked her walks, and a sublime consistency in all things ruled her actions. She was kind and generous to all her friends and acquaintances. She never practiced fallacies and policies to misguide the world as to her real being. Her funeral was the largest ever witnessed here. This is emblematic of the high respect and esteem she secured in her long lifetime. She was loved best by those who knew her longest. Her old age only painted friendship anew, and wove the carpet of adoration thicker. We join her many kindred in the sorrow and grief over her exit to another world.
