The Battle House is without any question the hotel of the city, so when you go to Mobile, do as our party did and take the ?bus,? which meets all trains, and see for yourself how well the house is kept
We can not close without speaking of our stay at this house which was most enjoyable. It being located in the centre of the city, almost every
street car passes the door, so we had no trouble in reaching home after our various excursions. We visited Spring Hill, which is located a few miles out of Mobile, and is a delightful ride among the tall, shady oaks and magnolias to the summit of the hill and return. Another evening we went to Monroe Park, which is situated on the Mobile Bay on the outskirts of the city where the breeze from the gulf is continually blowing; it rfminds one of Coney Island. We drove back over the fine shell road and reached home about midnight

While at Moss Point our artist met with a misfortune in having his ca mera blown over and broken, and, as we were going to stop at the celebrated Battle House in Mooile, we naturally wanted some good views of it, hence we telegraphed Mr. Albert Sandoz, the well-known photographer of that city, to call on us at the hotel, which he did,
and we are indebted to him for the beautiful pictures of the Battle House on these pages. Mr. Sandoz is well known in Mobile, having started the photograph business there twenty-five years ago. His work is the acme of the photographer?s art and he makes a specialty of crayon and pastel work, also of bright engravers? views of Mobile and surrounding country.
