ABC PROGRAM TO BE PRESENTED
We are happy to announce that the Hancock County Historical Society has the privilege of gathering a selection of Hancock County communities, each with a sequential letter of the alphabet as a geographical
and historical tool for familiarizing our youth with their heme county. There will be an insert in each edition of the Historian for the next thirteen issues, each containing two brief histories and descriptions of various communities in alphabetical order. You may save than to acquire the complete collection if you wish. At the end of that period, we will print a collection of than for presentation to school children.
This project is being done as an extension to a program by the State of Mississippi in which items of historic importance were displayed in alphabetical order at the Old Capital building last summer in Jackson. Our project is being sponsored through the generosity of Hancock Bank, Merchants Bank and Peoples Bank. Their suppport of this "ccmmunity" project is sincerely appreciated.
