Hurricane Danny caused some minor flooding Friday in Hancock County, but emergency and law enforcement personnel reported a minimum of problems.
Civil Defense Director Bobby Boudin ordered the Civic Center at Longfellow Drive open, and Sheriffs Deputy Mark Breun said he opened the shelter at 6:30 a.m. Friday. By 9 a.m., American Red Cross volunteer Jake Jacob was on duty, but no one had checked
Harbor inaccessible to average vehicles, but some people in larger, raised trucks were sightseeing, although barricades were up in place.
Boudin said at 10:30 a.m. Friday, the tide was at 4.1 feet at Bay Marina, only two feet above normal stage.
Water was also over North Beach Boulevard at Cedar Point, and there was flooding reported op Lagan, Tigress, Nassa and Central Avenue in Shoreline Park; on River Road and on Herron in Ansley.
