Bay Legion installs new officers

The Bay Bureau American Legion Post and Auxiliary Unit 139 held joint annual officer installations at the Legion home in Bay St. Louis, with A1 Vetter seated as post commander and Mrs. Pauline Charping as president of the auxiliary.

work, particularly the Boy Scout program. Mrs. Charping, also a member of her auxiliary for many years, served the group as secretary before assuming the presidency.
Installed to serve with Commander Vetter were Luke Scianna, first vice commander; C. J. Piazza, second vice commander; John W. Wilkerson, adjutant; Joseph Benvenutti,
chaplain and Lucien Kidd, service officer.
Also, Andy Becker, finance officer; Gilbert Gayout, judge advocate; D. W. North, historian; Felix Seeger, sergeant at arms; and Warren Bueh-ler and Robert Givens, color guards.
Executive committeemen will be Frank Taconi, A1 Summy, Edward Mur-tagh, Clayton Thompson' and Billy McLain and trustees are John D. Rutherford Jr., Richard Thames and Thomas Cain.
Installed as auxiliary officers were Mrs. Shirley Piazza,	first	vice presi-
dent; Mrs. Lena Cuevas, second	vice	president;
Mrs.	Beryl	Murtagh,
treasurer; Mrs. Lucille Wilkerson, secretary; Mrs.	Hattie	Bermond,
chaplain; Mrs. Beryl Kidd, sergeant at arms; and Mrs. Liz Capdepon and Mrs. Charles Johns, color bearers.
Serving on the auxiliary executive committee will be Mrs. Marion Elliott, Mrs. Patsy Ladner, Mrs. Doris Ducote.
Installing officer for the post was past department commander Wendell Craft and Mrs. Betty Romanoff
installed auxiliary officers.
Past post commander Ed Murtagh and past auxiliary president Mrs. Lena Cuevas were presented past commander?s and president?s pins by Benvenutti and Mrs. Romanoff.
Mrs. Rene Bermond was honored by the auxiliary for her 25 years as chaplain. She was presented a pin by Mrs. Cuevas.
