A Mississippi Department of Archives and History mnnnni Historic Preservation Division ? Post office Box ? jackson, Mississippi 39205-05^1 Telephone 601-354-7326 January 20, 1989 Established 1902 Mr. Charles E. Cresson 242 St. Charles St. Bay St. Louis, MS 39520 Dear Mr. Cresson: Ken P'Pool, our division director, asked me to check into the status of the house you own at 217 St. Charles Street in Bay St. Louis with regard to the National Register of Historic Places. At its former address, 132 Main Street, the house was included as a contributing element (//382) of the Beach Boulevard Historic District, which was listed on the National Register in 1980. However, when it was moved it lost its registration status, as it was no longer in the district. After looking over the material you have provided, I believe that the house may be individually eligible for listing on the National Register, despite having been moved. I recommend that a National Register nomination form be submitted for it. Since our office does not normally prepare nominations for individual buildings apart from large survey projects, it will be necessary for you to prepare the nomination yourself or to have someone prepare it for you. I am enclosing a nomination form and instruction packet. Included with the instruction packet is a list of consultants who prepare National Register nominations, should you wish to obtain professional assistance. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance. Sincerely, Chief Architectural Historian Division of Historic Preservation RJC/11 enclosure Board of Trustees: William F.
