CUEVAS Attributing his long life to blessings received from God, Waveland resident Cordosia Richardson celebrated his 99th birthday Saturday, May 10. Born in the Pearlington area, Richardson?s father moved to Bay St. Louis when he was age three. He attended school in Bay St. Louis and remembers being taught by Professor Brown. He said, ?First I can say, thanks to God as he spared my life and blessed me with a long life.? ?I feel and believe that I am near the end of life now with all my aches and pains. Yet, I will trust my God for the rest of my days,? Richardson added. Richardson resided in Pass Christian for several years before moving to Waveland. He began employment at age 14 with Sutter Well Works in Pass Christian and worked for the firm more than 50 years before retiring. ?I helped people get drinking water all along the Coast,? he proudly remembers. He now uses a walker to help get around his quaint Herlihy Street residence, which he shares with his wii of 44 years, Oreader S. Riel ardson.
