It is a pleasure to welcome you to this ceremony officially beginning construction of the Mississippi Army Ammunition Plant.
As the first commander of the facility, I thank you for your warm welcome to the community. Over the next five years, construction will dominate activities on the site. When the plant becomes operational in 1983, Mississippi AAP will be the most modern and efficient ammunition production facility in the Armed Services.
I hope you enjoy the program and I look forward to meeting and working with you as a good neighbor in your community.
