Now for what we do know based on sources to be cited:
Jean Baptiste Baudreau dit Graveline, Sr. was born and baptized in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on May 18, 1671. His parents were Urbain Baudreau de Graveline and Mathurine Marguerite Juillet. He first came to the Mississippi Coast (Fort Maurepas in what is now Ocean Springs, MS) on January 8,1700, with the explorer Pierre Le Moyne d'lberville as explained in a Spring 1985 article in the publication, "The Descentants," p. 4 by Mary Louise Adkinson. JBBG, Sr. eventually settled in the area west of present day Pascagoula until his death there about 1762. Much more can be found on him and his ancestors in the various publications called "The Descendants," the official publication of the Urbain B. Graveline Genealogical Assn., Inc.
JBBG, Sr. married on July 3,1727. This record is found at the Catholic Cathedral in Mobile, Alabama, and was re-recorded there on January 28,1762. Highlights of this record include:
1.	He was a resident of "Capiene." Today, this is the community of Bellefontaine, southeast of Ocean Springs in Jackson County, MS.
2.	His wife was "Susanne, an Indian, and married in the presence of John B. Boudreaux Jr., son, of the contracting parties, aged ten years, is legitimized by this marriage." With this we can conclude JBBG, Jr. was born in 1717.
*** Please note there was no mention of JBBG, Sr.'s daughter, Magdeleine "Pany" Baudreau, who was born around 1708, and will be discussed shortly. This seems to indicate that Magdeleine and JBBG, Jr. had the same father, but different mothers, as will soon be explained.
JBBG, Sr.'s Will was written on September 16,1750, in New Orleans, LA (National Archives, Reference Division "D", Miss., Item 126 - Volume 203, pages 473 - 474). Key information listed:
1.	He was living at "la Bellefontaine, old Biloxi." Today, this the community of Bellefontaine, southeast of Oceans Springs, MS.
2.	He was born in Montreal, Canada.
3.	He has been "in this Colony" since the year 1700, after coming with "Mr. Diberville."
4.	He had "carnal communications with a Squaw of the Indian Nation, a daughter of a great Chief."
5.	He "had a son by her who is now about 30 years of age." (He was referring to his son, JDDG, Jr., indicating he was born about 1720).
6.	He was "compelled to marry said Squaw (or	Indian	woman) in the	presence of the Church."
7.	His son was named as "John Baudreaux."
8.	He was disowning his son because "he threatened	to	kill	him," and he was "leaving nothing to him or his
wife."
9.	He was leaving everything to his "God-son, Brazillier, Jr."
*** Please note his daughter, Magdeleine "Pany" Baudreau is NOT mentioned in his Will!
