Son of the late Dr. and Mrs. .John Ames Mead, Dr. Mead' was. bom in Logtown, Miss. He was 61 years old and lived at 115 North 22nd ave. He was educated at the Soule Business college In New Orleans and was graduated from Vanderbilt university in Nashville, Tenn, in 1914. -
Dr. Meal practiced in his home town of Logtown 10 years and served as Hancock .county health officer six years. He was one of the first leaders of the organization of the Boy Scout movement on the Gulf coast. His late father was the first physician to practice medicine in Logtown. ,	.;	...	%
Dr. -and Mrs. Mead were married in October,. 1911?in Magee. Mrs. Mead is the former Sallye Thames, daughter of T. M. Thames of Magee. They came to Hattiesburg in the fall of 1928 from Logtown. He was-a

Funeral services will be held at
4	"p. in. Tuesday 'at Main Street Methodist church.- Dr. W. A. Hall, pastor of a Presbyterian church in Jackson, will officiate. He will be assisted by Dr. B. M. Hunt, pastor of Main Street church, and Dr. J. T. Leggett, former pastor.. Reverend" T7n.li officiated at the marriage of Dr. and Mrs. Mead. ' ?>_. . 'Interment will be In Roseland Park cemetery.
